Actress Ridhika Ridhi found hanging in Dhaka residence

The body of actress and model Ridhika Ridhi was recovered from Bashundhara Residential Area in Dhaka on Saturday morning.

She was found hanging from a ceiling fan at around 6:00am and was later taken to Kurmitola General Hospital, where doctors declared her dead.

Mazharul Islam, officer-in-charge of Bhatara Police Station, confirmed the incident to Prothom Alo. Police initially suspect that she may have died by suicide.

“After receiving the information, we went to Kurmitola Hospital and found the body. Her mother and other family members are currently at the police station,” the OC said.

According to information provided by the family, Ridhika was in a relationship with someone and had an argument with that person over a video call early Saturday morning. Police said she died by suicide while still on the call.

The police officer said a case would be filed based on a complaint from the family.

Ridhika worked as a model and also acted in several dramas, including Ekhane Manush Bikri Hoy, Bohurupi, Double Honeymoon and Shundori.
