Nazifa Tushi’s ‘ANNiE’ to Premiere on iScreen Following International Festival Run

The Bangladeshi miniseries "ANNiE", starring Nazifa Tushi and directed by Abdullah Mohammad Saad, is set to make its domestic streaming debut on the OTT platform iScreen after completing its international festival journey.

The series, which became the first Bangladeshi production selected for the Women in Series section of Germany's Seriencamp Festival, will soon be available to audiences in Bangladesh.

The streaming agreement was signed on Wednesday, July 29, at the Channel i office in the presence of the series' creators and producers. Those attending included Impress Telefilm and Channel i Managing Director Faridur Reza Sagar, director Abdullah Mohammad Saad, producer Ehsanul Haque Babu, and co-producers Shihab Nurun Nabi and Tanvir Hossain.

Producer Ehsanul Haque Babu said the team was pleased to bring the series to local viewers through iScreen after its successful international festival screening. He expressed hope that audiences would appreciate the storytelling, filmmaking, and performances featured in the production.

In addition to Nazifa Tushi, the cast includes Yash Rohan, Simon Sadik, Sarika Sabrin, Farhana Mithu, and Nazah.

"ANNiE" had its world premiere on June 9 at the Seriencamp Festival in Cologne, Germany, becoming the first Bangladeshi series selected for an international festival dedicated exclusively to television series.

The series was produced under the banners of Metrovideo, Catalog, Jirel, and Audacious Originals by Ehsanul Haque Babu and Ali Afzal Uzzal, with Shihab Noorun Nabi, Tuhin Tamizul, Tanvir Hossain, Johan Chapelan, Saiful Islam, and Raihan Sikder serving as co-producers. Apoorva Bakshi is the executive producer.

Abdullah Mohammad Saad made his feature film debut with "Live from Dhaka" in 2016. He later gained international recognition with "Rehana Maryam Noor" (2021), the first Bangladeshi film selected for the Un Certain Regard section of the Cannes Film Festival, before the film went on to screen at more than 15 international film festivals.
