Bollywood star Salman Khan has come under criticism over a social media post about the ongoing student protest over the NEET question paper leak. While he had expressed support for the movement on Wednesday, he later urged the protesting students on Thursday night to suspend their agitation and return home. He also asked social activist Sonam Wangchuk to end his hunger strike.
In his post, Salman Khan said that students’ education and safety are the top priorities. He noted that the Prime Minister had already spoken on the issue and that he believed strict action would be taken against those involved in the question paper leak. He therefore urged the protesting students to return to their parents.
In the same post, he wrote to Sonam Wangchuk that the hunger strike had gone on long enough and that it was time to end it. He also mentioned that he could send food from his home if needed.
After the post was published, social media saw a strong reaction against Salman Khan. Many users criticized his stance and made various comments. Some claimed that he had been politically influenced, while others mocked his post.
However, many of the actor’s fans also came out in his support. Meanwhile, Sonam Wangchuk ended his 26-day hunger strike after receiving a written assurance from the government. Following that, Salman’s supporters left positive comments on his post.
