Security tightened at Dhanmondi 32, man detained while paying tribute

Security has been strengthened around the demolished residence of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Dhanmondi 32 in Dhaka on Saturday, as authorities detained a man who went there to pay tribute on his death anniversary.

The man, identified as Arnab Das, was detained at around 10 am and later taken to Dhanmondi Police Station, Officer-in-Charge Md Imdadul Islam said.

Police said they had initially learned that Das is an active member of the banned organisation Jubo League. He is currently being questioned, the OC said.

According to police, Das is from Tangail.
