Pakistan’s former Prime Minister Imran Khan has been sent back to prison this Friday after undergoing a medical evaluation at a hospital.

The transfer followed an order from the Supreme Court for Khan to be taken to hospital for medical assessment.

The government said the evaluation found no health issue requiring immediate medical treatment, after which Khan was moved early on Friday from jail to the state-run PIMS Hospital, where he spent a few hours before being returned to prison. Imran Khan was expected to undergo medical tests at the privately run Shifa International Hospital but was instead taken to PIMS(a State-run hospital) due to a “security situation” caused by PTI supporters, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar said.
